Job Title: Office Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager Location: Phoenix and / or Chandler, AZ Reports To: Project Manager / Senior Project Manager Department: Construction / Design-Build Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview:We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Office Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager to support our commercial construction projects with a strong emphasis on process management, documentation control, and coordination with a design-build team. This role requires working closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with a highly procedural client's expectations and standards.Data Center, clean room and design-build experience is a plus.The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to supporting project execution and have experience working in environments with rigorous documentation, scheduling, and client reporting requirements. Key Responsibilities:Project Documentation &amp; Control<ul><li>Manage and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project correspondence using project management software (Procore).</li><li>Maintain organized project files in compliance with client-specific documentation standards and internal QA/QC requirements.</li><li>Draft and distribute internal and external communication, including reports, logs, and schedules.</li></ul>Design-Build Support<ul><li>Collaborate with the design team and consultants to facilitate coordination between architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.</li><li>Assist with constructability reviews, drawing coordination, and tracking of design development.</li><li>Attend design and coordination meetings, take notes, and follow up on action items.</li></ul>Client &amp; Stakeholder Communication<ul><li>Support the Project Manager in interfacing with a process-driven client, ensuring documentation, responses, and reports meet client expectations.</li><li>Prepare and submit detailed, professional, and timely reports to clients and stakeholders.</li><li>Track client deliverables and approval timelines, ensuring deadlines are met.</li></ul>Construction Administration<ul><li>Assist with cost tracking, budget reviews, invoice processing, and schedule updates.</li><li>Monitor subcontractor compliance, including insurance certificates, safety documentation, and daily reporting.</li><li>Track procurement items, lead times, and delivery schedules in coordination with the project team.</li></ul>Administrative &amp; Office Support<ul><li>Support the project team from the office, ensuring efficient workflow, calendar scheduling, and document routing.</li><li>Perform QA/QC reviews of documents prior to distribution.</li><li>Manage closeout documentation including O&amp;M manuals, as-builts, warranties, and turnover packages.</li></ul> Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.</li><li>25 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably in a design-build environment.</li><li>Experience working with highly procedural clients (e.g., tech companies, healthcare, or institutional sectors) is highly desirable.</li><li>Proficiency in project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>Excellent organizational and time management skills.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Detail-oriented with the ability to follow established processes and improve them as needed.</li></ul>Preferred Traits:<ul><li>Calm under pressure with a solutions-focused mindset.</li><li>Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.</li><li>Takes ownership and initiative while working well within a collaborative team structure.</li></ul>
